9 years since cold water camp in Tasmania for #ChannelHoppers EC preparation. Time to sort out the next big continental challenge
Next big #ChannelHoppers swim planning started. Bigger (not technically longer) and better than any previous swims. Will be at least a few years before it happens though.
@antsharwood Yes, decent sized shark cage with mesh underwater to hopefully keep large white critters at distance! Team of 5 #ChannelHoppers swam across in one hour turns and then it was a nice day so I swam back solo. Plan was I would do a solo few days after but weather wasnt going to suit.
@Bundogs @MaryanneMancuso I made a big error in our Kangaroo Island swim with #ChannelHoppers . Swimming over as team I did a one hour swim and rest of time doing some social media. No posts when swimming back solo as I was in water so it may have looked as though we all were lost at sea.....oops.
Great to have added the #Cliff2Bridge to complete the triple tiara (little sibling for triple crown) along with U24 and Kangaroo Island. Fantastic swims with the #ChannelHoppers big thanks to family, the broader swim family, Butch and everyone around for support. Solo swims 1/2
Here is a shot of the journey back from #KangarooIsland during my solo swim after #ChannelHoppers team swim over to the island. I never realised there was a burn-off on the island in front of us. Camera mounted to shark cage hence not even as waves washed through.
In April 2021 the #ChannelHoppers swam from the mainland to #KangarooIsland - lots of timelapse footage collected and finally able to get to processing it (been busy). Stay tuned for the review of the journey across and back! (Wont finish for a few weeks as got a bit to process)
@jess_marnich @TheRipSwim @Bundogs @MartySwims @jasonbryce @AtBarristers @pracconnect Yes, did the #RipSwim in 2019. Seems every two years #ChannelHoppers (6 person team for RipSwim) do a new swim. EC 2017, #RipSwim 2019, #KangarooIsland 2021 so we are due another one in 2023 but yet to lock it in.

@Bundogs @suzannaswims Given our team #ChannelHoppers 2 hour plus 1 Channel training swim consisted of a Scallop Pie after the first few hours before the next paddle this seems an entirely appropriate swim cap. 👍 Definitely gets my approval!
@Bundogs I have to credit my brother with the socks, he felt they were appropriate for #ChannelHoppers
4 years ago the #ChannelHoppers were part way across our #EnglishChannel swim at this time. Not quite as far along as the 360 image shows close to the French coast as we neared La Sirene where we finished and my brother was given the obligatory glass of champagne 👍🏊♂️
@Butterfield6 @MartySwims @glistenrr @sanderling68 @robbosal Not the roughest sea but one of the most worried was swimming with 5 of the #ChannelHoppers crew at northern end of StMargarets beach (near Dover) - realised strong current and were being pushed N rapidly. Had to get out and walk on rocks back - EC relay was next morning 🤦♂️
@StanGorton It's fun reliving some of the moments in the swim, this is me in the shark cage as swimmer 3 of the #ChannelHoppers team crossing to #KangarooIsland with a container ship in the background (boat was rocking in swell so horizon not very level)
Upscaling our #ChannelHoppers swim video....doing some maths it should be done in about 32 hours for one of the three cameras 😯 plenty of time to do some written content

Wont share an image to avoid screens breaking everywhere....French/English themed
Getting back to reviewing some timelapse footage from #ChannelHoppers #KangarooIsland #OceanSwim and realised cargo ship went behind me doing part of the team swim and not the solo back to mainland. Looking forward to getting a final edit together in the next week or so.
