@ScienceTalkOrg Iβm so encouraged by how far #scicomm training & support has come since I began my career. A couple of decades ago, many practitioners within academia used pseudonyms so they wouldnβt be penalized by their institutions. Today strong scicomm skills are a valued asset. #ChatwithASC

@ScienceTalkOrg The big ones for me are 1) How to use language that will resonate with a narrow target audience with a different worldview than mine, 2) technical audiovisual skills, and 3) how to put the findings of scicomm research into practice. #ChatWithASC

@ScienceTalkOrg I'm a university PIO and write about research findings every day (fun!), but I don't have a journalism background, so sometimes I wish I could learn journo basics or other writing tips/best practices. Always looking to improve my writing for lay audiences! #chatwithasc
