Hurricane Beryl update: WCK’s Kyle is in St. Vincent where we are preparing hundreds of sandwiches to provide immediate relief as we assess needs in the islands hit hardest by the storm. Kyle also supported our relief efforts in St. Vincent in 2021 response after the La Soufrière volcano displaced 20,000 people. #ChefsForSVG
With local restaurants & cooking from our own Relief Kitchen, WCK served nearly 240,000 meals to people displaced by the La Soufrière volcano eruption beginning in April. As families return home, we're grateful for everyone who made our efforts possible, thank you!🙏 #ChefsForSVG

Fresh from the WCK Relief Kitchen in St. Vincent! 😍 Ital is a local dish made from calalou, pumpkin, onion, garlic, rice, and lentils cooked in coconut milk and served with stewed chunks (a common vegan protein). As the saying goes—ital is vital! #ChefsForSVG

QUICK REPORT from WCK's Josh @JPh3lps in Sandy Bay on St. Vincent. The volcanic eruption left Sandy Bay covered in ash, then 13+ inches of rain completely destroyed a bridge our team was using to distribute meals. Residents are now meeting us halfway to get meals. #ChefsForSVG
“We are all Vincentians, it’s like helping out our brothers, brothers in arms”

Planning is important, but after disasters you have to be willing to throw out the plan and adapt to the situation in real time! Also must work hand-in-hand with local community...This is Okeefe who has been helping get hot, fresh meals to his community in Sandy Bay! #ChefsForSVG
In the aftermath of a disaster, adaptation is key. This week, that meant meal delivery by wheelbarrow! Due to heavy rains, we could not drive to get meals to the community of Sandy Bay, so residents met us to pick up food & water to take back to families in need. #ChefsForSVG

How do we get fresh meals to those who need food? By any means necessary! With roads washed out after the volcano eruption 🌋 the @WCKitchen team is delivering with wheelbarrow & by foot to Sandy Point on St. Vincent. You can support our work here... https://t.co/nwxgIz1gAh 🙏
We @WCKitchen always try to purchase as much local produce as we can after disasters—without impacting local supply chain...Yesterday we bought pumpkins & tomatoes from a farm in St. Vincent that survived the 🌋 eruption! Today we cooked them & added stew chicken! #ChefsForSVG
