I've dug up some information concerning priests, paedophilia and the Church of England. Please read and share.
As you may already be aware, I've been following the issues associated with the 'sex offender treatment organisations', particularly the Lucy Faithfull Foundation for a while now.
The Lucy Faithfull Foundation was involved in the matter of David Tudor, the priest who sexually assaulted children but was allowed to remain in post by Stephen Cottrell, now the Archbishop of York.
For those who are not aware, there is currently a major issue with Stephen Cottrell's knowledge and inaction concerning David Tudor, in a similar way that led to the resignation of the former Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby concerning John Smyth. This is important because the Archbishop of York is due to temporarily take over as Archbishop of Canterbury next year.

It therefore came as no surprise to me that the Lucy Faithfull Foundation did a 'risk assessment' on David Tudor back in 2005. On the basis of that assessment David Tudor was permitted to return to his position as Team Rector on Canvey Island.
It apparently wasn't disclosed to the Lucy Faithfull Foundation by either Tudor himself or the CoE that there were additional victims.
When the failure of these 'risk assessments' have played a part in one of the biggest scandals of our time yet their use has been largely ignored, what does this say about any failures associated with these 'risk assessments' in individual cases that don't have such a high profile?
Like in the case of Ruby who "suffered years of abuse by her legal guardian, who later got her pregnant. He was given custody of Ruby (not her real name) by a family court, despite the authorities knowing that he was a convicted paedophile."

As a Lucy Faithfull report (for a different matter) concluded Ruby's Guardian presented a very low risk to young girls, a Child and Social Work Assessment deemed he was a low risk to Ruby and it was agreed he could live with her.
If @Jas_Sanghera_ had not taken up Ruby's case then this injustice may never have seen the light of day.
How many other children like Ruby are out there?
How many offenders like David Tudor lie on these 'assessments' to hide the truth?
Donald Findlater, the former CEO of the Lucy Faithfull Foundation has sat on various Church of England Safeguarding Panels.
Deborah Dennis, the current CEO of the Lucy Faithfull Foundation took over Donald Findlater's role as an advisor on the @CofEGuildford Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel earlier this year. It is an obvious conflict of interest for those who advocate for sex offenders to be offering safeguarding advice.

When will our politicians and journalists wise up to one of the biggest scandals of our time? 'Sex offender treatment organisations' should not be advising on how to shape policy on child protection. They advocate for offenders, not children. It's an obvious conflict of interest that continues to be wilfully ignored. How many more children need to suffer before action is taken?
