In all my years of being a StarWars fan I never knew there was such a thing as TV within StarWars, but here we have it in #Themandalorian ๐ this show. Am I right or wrong? @OGStarwarsAB @FracturedFilter @AirlockOpen @RynoRaging @LostJedi22 #Starwars #lucasera #chooselegends
When you find Legends hard-covers, you buy Legends hard-covers! These are in amazing shape all things considered. My Legends/EU collection is ever growing! Always looking for recommendations! #legends #chooselegends #georgelucasera @FracturedFilter @OGStarwarsAB @OGStarwarsAB
I've been saying it for years now. The New Jedi Order along with Legacy of the Force is among the best Star Wars content ever made and deserves to be as well regarded as the OT, Thrawn, and KOTOR. Not one Disney book holds a candle to them. #ChooseLegends
@thervn1207page I'd rather Disney focus entirely on restoring the EU for the foreseeable future, and maybe if someone has an interesting story concept, they can revisit the ST as an alternate timeline. If it came down to one or the other, then they should #ChooseLegends
@TheOsseophile If Disney honestly wanted to focuds on new characters while the OT cast is mostly in the background, any story about Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin Solo along with ben Skywalker would have been perfect for that. They screwed themselves over by ignoring the books.

@PE_Shill I like it when characters remain consistent and stories build off their previous accomplishments in logical ways. It's what made stories like Thrawn, New Jedi Order, and Legacy of the Force feel connected to the films on top of being well written.

Mara Jade has one of the best arcs in all of Star Wars. She began as an Imperial loyalist who wanted Luke dead but became a Jedi Master under his instruction and a dedicated wife and mother. It's stories like hers that make the EU irreplaceable.

@WayfinderPod Comparing TROS with EU is laughable, especially with Legacy of the Force. That's the far superior storyline about Han and Leia's son becoming a Sith, with better structure, pacing, characterization, and respect for the events of Lucas' saga than all of the ST.

Disney decanonizing the EU was one of the biggest mistakes they've made with Star Wars. It was a precursor for how much they'd disregard the characters and lore.

@JovenSkywalker They can't silence everyone who wants good content, and EU fans know where to find it. As Disney continues to flounder, we'll keep introducing people to richer storylines that build the characters they saw in the movies.

@euOutlander The worse Disney Star Wars gets, the more we keep promoting far better stories that respect George's mythos and characters.

I'm re-reading Exile, the 4th book in the Legacy of the Force series. It has one of Ben Skywalker's most defining moments, regarding how choices determine who a character is and what makes them who they are.

The real sequel to Return of the Jedi. Follow that up with the rest of the Thrawn trilogy, Jedi Academy trilogy, New Jedi Order, Legacy of the Force, and you'll get a much better storyline than anything Disney has dreamt up in a decade.

to any one who may want to read SW...a good start:
online quote:Heir to the Empire is a Star Wars Legends novel written by Timothy Zahn. It is the first installment of Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, and it was first published in May 1991 by Bantam Spectra.end quote.

All I see here is a Palpatine. If you're looking for Skywalkers, Legacy of the Force is a great series about them. Luke, Mara, and Ben all have deep characterization in this multi-part series about war, betrayal, and the duality of the Force. I highly recommend it.

The Last Skywalker
@NoobicusMaximus Bad movies deserve to be criticized, especially if they contradict or invalidate other movies in their franchise. It's Disney's fault for ignoring continuity and developing the ST with no plan whatsoever. That's why most of us disregard it.

What has entertainment come to where people pretend a terribly written trilogy strung together with no plan is secretly genius and ignore the merrits of great stories that pay respect to canon in addition to being well written and thought-provoking?

This is the only Star Wars content I accept. Not only is it internally consistent with itself without any ridiculous headcanon, but they all spotlight the best aspects of this rich galaxy far, far away and why so many people love it.

People underestimate Star Wars politics. Corellia instigating a coup on Hapes by using Han and Leia to draw out their leader for assassins in order to drive them to war against the GA is infinitely more morally gray than Canto Bight. The ST has little to no nuance.
