#ClimateTip A common #DenialMachine tactic is to say "the climate always changes" or "arctic ice has melted before."
Such #misinformation statements ignore the RAPID loss of ice and the AVERAGES, folks: there's LESS and THINNER overall ice every year, because the heat's GREATER!
A savage summer of heat in the Arctic has taken 2020 to the second lowest sea ice extent on record.
The summer 2020 melt season has been summarised in a few seconds. The orange line is the long term average.
In short, we have lost an enormous amount of ice.
