8 seconds of normal, Then the camp is gone. They didn’t run at first. They thought it was just noise from the river. Then the mountain arrived in their camp. First-person video from hydropower workers as the debris flow hits their living area — not the famous Gyirong CCTV, this is earlier, closer, and harder to watch. The clip circulated after WeChat/Douyin-style uploads of the same scene were taken down. #NepalFlood #NepalFloods #Rasuwa #BhoteKoshiRiver #TrishuliRiver #GLOF #GlacialLakeOutburstFlood #hydropower #GyirongPort #NepalTibetBorder #Xizang #flashflood #NepalDisaster

THE “EARTHQUAKE” BEFORE NEPAL’S DISASTER WASN’T AN EARTHQUAKE Something strange happened in the Himalayas just before the catastrophic Nepal-Tibet flood. Seismic instruments picked up what was initially reported as a M4.4 earthquake. Except there was no earthquake. USGS now says the signal came from the massive glacier and ice-rock collapse itself, registering as a M5.2 seismic event before ice, rock and water tore through the river system below. At least 168 people are now dead and more than 1,300 are reported missing. But here’s where this gets even more interesting. This same river system flooded just 14 months ago. Last time, a glacial lake in Tibet suddenly released its water. This time, a massive ice-rock collapse sent another destructive surge downstream. Two different glacier-related disasters. Same Himalayan river system. Barely more than a year apart. 👇 Coincidence, or a warning of something changing in the Himalayas? #MrMBB333 #Nepal #Himalayas #Glacier #Tibet
