After establishing the Museum of Modern Art at @NCPAMumbai in 1976, Nicholson exhibited more than 250 works from his collection at @mumbai_ngma in 1998 and @ngma_delhi in 1999. He continued his quest to build a museum of contemporary art.

Nicholson’s vision for his collection was to make it accessible to the public by building a museum of contemporary art. In 1976, he partnered with JRD Tata and established the ‘Jehangir Nicholson Museum of Modern Art’ at the @NCPAMumbai . 2/2 #CollectionStories

#CollectionStories: Nicholson bought his first painting in 1968. Soon he began frequenting Pundole’s and Chemould thar opened in the 60s. By the 70s, he had built a sizeable collection and was a regular amongst the art community in the city.
