@V_and_A I’m beginning to realise the binary focus of legislation/access to surgical/medical affirmation in Britain has led to binary gender language in even the queer trails in museums. Either that or it’s the #ColonialProjectOfGender. Lots of ‘both sexes’ ‘women&men’. Dear me.

Acknowledge that you are being exclusionary and that your research is subsequently limited. OR include non-binary and gender diverse peoples from the beginning. Don’t ignore what @sandyosullivan calls the #ColonialProjectOfGender.

Their claim on the FB page suggests that transgender people take it up with Council. Their now deleted website statement (still on fb) suggests that women who are trans are not women unless they’ve had ‘gender reassignment surgery’. #ColonialProjectOfGender @RandwickCouncil
