๐ขRace Soldier Donavan Bever was fired from the #ColumbusPD for racially profiling Black American teenagers crossing the street, then physically assaulting, and brutalizing one of them, even aggressively pulling his hair on the way to the patrol unit.
The incident took place in February, but body-worn camera video of it was just released this Friday.
On the evening of Feb. 19, The confrontation began after a group of teens had walked past a police cruiser and at least one of them said "F the police,". Which is protected speech under the 1st Amendment, and case law has proven this is protected speech.๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ

Donovan Bever and his partner, Cody Banks, pursued the Black American teens, prompting them to scatter. The video then shows the struggle between the race soldier Donavan Bever and the 14-year-old Black American boy. You can hear the teen tell the white officer multiple times "I'm complying" and "I'm sorry." He also said "I'm bleeding," and at one point told the officer, "It wasn't that serious, bro."
To which the race soldiers replied: "It is now."
And the teen: "You didn't have to do my face like that."
The video also showed what appeared to be drops of blood on the sidewalk near where the boy's face was on the ground. Donavan Bever grabbed the 14-year-old Black boy "by the hair and forcefully pushed his head/face to strike a concrete continuously.
Donovan Bever yelled at him "You move, I will break your face," Bever told the Black American teen after placing him in handcuffs. The former officer also dragged (the Black American) by his long hair by pulling it aggressively while walking him to the police cruiser (and) ... aggressively struck him in the groin.
Donovan Bever also removed objects from the teen's pockets and threw them at him, "striking him in the face," according to the documents.
An internal investigation followed from that day until June 3 -- 105 days in all -- at which point Bryant "approved departmental changes" against Bever. A week later, on June 10, she recommended his termination.
He's fired, now we need to make sure he never can be a police officer, or work in any public capacity ever. We need charges against him, and jailtime, and needs to be sued personally.
