How many petitions must citizens submit for the very same issue before the @chennai_Highway @NHAI_Tamilnadu takes meaningful action?
Why are we being forced to raise multiple petitions when the grievance has already been explained clearly? The repeated closure of petitions without understanding or addressing the actual issue reflects a serious failure in grievance handling.
The @CMOTamilnadu @Chief_Secy_TN should initiate strict departmental action, including suspension of officials who repeatedly fail to discharge their responsibilities and dispose of public grievances carelessly. Only when there is accountability will officials begin to respect citizens and respond to public concerns sincerely instead of treating the grievance redressal system as a mere formality.

Refer to the #MudhalvarinMugavari #17514832, which has once again been closed by the 'Chennai City Roads - I Divisional Engineer - C & M', even at the appeal stage, without addressing the actual grievance raised.
We request the #HWY Executive Engineer (EE) to initiate appropriate departmental action against the concerned Divisional Engineer for repeated negligence, lack of due diligence, and an indifferent approach in handling public grievances.
The attached site photographs, officially shared by the Highways Department as the response to #MudhalvarinMugavari #17514832, clearly demonstrate the so-called "rectification" carried out at the location. Instead of implementing a proper engineering solution, debris was merely dumped at the site, following which the petition was closed. No meaningful or permanent corrective work was undertaken.
Even more concerning is that the very same photographs and response were reused to dispose of the appeal without conducting any fresh site inspection or verifying the actual condition of the location. This reflects a casual and irresponsible approach to the grievance redressal process.
Furthermore, the temporary work was completely washed away within just two days, clearly demonstrating that the restoration failed to meet even basic engineering standards, quality control requirements, or durability expected of public infrastructure works.
Closing petitions without resolving the underlying issue undermines public confidence in the grievance redressal system and defeats the very purpose of #MudhalvarinMugavari.
In #MudhalvarinMugavari #17514832, no proper response has been provided. The closure contains neither the name nor the designation of the officer who examined and responded to the petition, and there is no signature or official authentication. The only attachment is a site photograph, without any explanation or justification for closing the grievance.
We therefore request the Executive Engineer to:
1) Conduct an independent site inspection.
2) Initiate appropriate departmental action against the concerned 'Chennai City Roads - I Divisional Engineer - C & M' for the negligent disposal of both the original petition and the appeal.
3) Ensure that the location is permanently restored in accordance with established engineering standards, approved specifications, and quality requirements.
4) Prevent the practice of closing petitions without verifying that the grievance has been genuinely and permanently resolved.
Finally, if the attached photograph officially shared by the Highways Department is considered sufficient evidence of a completed engineering work, then perhaps the @CMOTamilnadu and the @Chief_Secy_TN may consider recognizing it as an example of "#EngineeringExcellence." The photograph itself speaks louder than any explanation and allows the public to judge whether this reflects the standards of quality, accountability, and governance expected from the Highways Department.
