Ambassador @MichaelKanuSL on @AJEnglish this week during #UNGA81 High-Level Week, he spoke about UN Security Council Reform and Africa’s clear position.
The debate on whether the Council should be reformed is over. There is overwhelming support for the Common African Position, as set out in the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration. The African Model has been presented to Member States. What remains is the political will to act: to reform the Council in order to save it, and to give it the legitimacy it needs to be effective.
Under the leadership of H.E. President @julius_maadabio, Coordinator of the African Union Committee of Ten on UN Security Council Reform, Sierra Leone will continue to canvass, promote and advocate for the Common African Position until this historic injustice is corrected.
