@JasonCobill I have found writing and sometimes hidden notes inside cases items... once I found a lock of hair wrapped in a note. The note said: bracelet $5. The photograph was during the period when they used to make hair jewelry. I guess they never did make that bracelet! #ConservationAtLAC
@ianloughead @AskaConservator I hate all tapes! But especially the ones that are in mid deterioration... Freshly applied tape is easy to remove. As well as with very old applied tape as the carrier is already yellowed and dried out... #ConservationAtLAC
Hand sanitizer must NOT be used before handling containers and collections material. Studies have shown that hand sanitizers can cause a variety of chemical damage to collections material.

@JasonCobill 2/2 We can tell that the periods between the initials of these WWII troops where added after the list was pasted on to the back of the photograph because we can see where the typewriter strikes dented the photograph.

@JasonCobill 1/2 Writing found on the back of photographs can give invaluable insight into the content of the photograph and we're always careful to preserve it. Sometimes we even see evidence of it on the front.
