#ConservationNightmares The 1822 Barnsley Township map is one of our key early maps. It shows the landscape and individual buildings in incredible detail. In 2019, thanks to a grant from the @BarnsleyMHT we were able to have the fragile township map professionally conserved.
We have had conservation students fix some #conservationnightmares that have occurred in the collections.
Below is a before and after treatment image of a drawing that had tears and staining. Without treatment the drawings stability was at risk.
