Caught a trio of lithophilic spawning species at #Coreyon this weekend. This marks our first trip of my final spawning utilization survey. Still a bit early for walleye spawning offshore (2C bottom temp).

The walleye have spoken, party seems to be over at #Coreyon. Low catch, spent males, no eggs. Thus, the spring survey has concluded. It may be time for some summer spawners to move in; we found lots of gravid round gobies and white perch on the reef. See you in the fall!

It’s great to be back! After an alternator failure on the water (fun), and its subsequent replacement, our spawning survey at #Coreyon continues.
By my estimation the spawn is on at #Coreyon! Finding lots of eggs in our mats that soaked on the reef for the past week.
Roughly 95% of this week’s #Coreyon catch was male walleye looking to spawn. This northern pike was a bit of a surprise.
Today was the calmest day I’ve been on Saginaw Bay in recent memory. The ~10 mile ride to #Coreyon is a lot quicker on glass. We even found some trout-perch at our control site!
Egg mats are set! First trip to #Coreyon this spring, and it’s nice to be back on the water (just trust me there’s a great reef under the surface).
