We have been experimenting with Dutch language user stories. To the best of our knowledge this is the first ever Dutch user story to be automatically analysed and estimated. (Thats 3 COSMIC Function Points) #cosmicsizing
@allenholub Agree that story points are really a proxy for hours. The discussion about story points can be a really useful one. Through discussion, teams work out the best way to implement.
If you want proper, reliable estimates, use Cosmic Function Points. #cosmicsizing
@allenholub Asking for an estimate is not just a reasonable request, it is the responsibility of a good CEO. If the team don't know how to estimate effectively, they should learn. #cosmicsizing https://t.co/4XKSP15BjC
@davefarley77 Engineering is the practical application of science. Common to all engineering activities (except software) is standardised measurement. Until it is adopted universally we are technicians. #cosmicsizing
Instant user story QA, estimation and test generation in English, Portuguese or now Italian, #softwaredevelopment #SoftwareTesting #userstories #cosmicsizing #agilecoach
@duarte_vasco Quite wrong. For a given requirement (or user story) the ISO standard size can be consistently, empirically measured. With the COSMIC functional sizing methodology it doesn't matter that you don't know all the requirements, you measure what IS known. #COSMICsizing
Thanks Patrick for some good advices but I beg to differ for your conclusions: I think it's because you are thinking 'process' only and not 'product'. And also, 'estimates' of _what_? #metricsdevops #Cosmicsizing
finished #noestimates book : slicing backlog to smaller items and continously delivering value first + involve customer - generic agile/lean thinking applies ; I think it should read big up front estimates are doomed ; 1/2
