Warmer weather brings wildfire risks to our county.
A single spark or shard of glass is all it takes so pack a picnic, not a BBQ and follow the #CountrysideCode
Let's protect our countryside together. Thank you for loving Northumberland like it's your own ๐โค๏ธ
What is the world coming too.. do they not teach the #countrysidecode anymore in schools.
there are other ways to remember your friend, now, you have made so much work for #firefighters ,#farmers,

Go figure eh.
Itโs not at endemic levels just yet in popular parts of Lakeland (itโs not a summer holiday etc yet) but sadly such scenes are a regular occurrence now.
Why?? ๐๐ข
I did my bit today ๐ Regrettably, volunteers and myself encountered โfly campsโ (think fly tipping) and litter around Derwentwater ๐๐ข #lakedistrict #trashfreetrails
EDUCATION matters folks and sadly so does enforcement.
#countrysidecode and all that! ๐๐๐ซก๐ณ
A message from Stacey Dooley and Dom from #trashfreetrails ๐๐ฅ Theyโre out tomorrow in the #lakedistrict ๐๏ธ Iโll be filming the same for a new BBC TV series about the environmental impact of litter and more besides.
Iโll be at the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick at 11am if ya about ๐ค๐๐๏ธ๐ฅ
If ya out about Lakeland ya can report what you found and more via the following linky โฌ๏ธ

Look at these utter ignorant fools! Fly camping above the Kirkstone Pass Inn ๐ฎ๐คฏ
Itโs been reported to @WandFCouncil but who knows if anyone will head out to educate and enforce Public Space Protection Orders within a UNESCO World Heritage Site? #lakedistrict #countrysidecode
My fell running pal sent me these images infuriated asking where are the rangers.
Fact is such inconsiderate and irresponsible behaviour needs reporting. Hopefully, theyโll be approached with care and education.
Itโs a helluva tent to carry up that steep part of the fell above the Kirkstone Pass Inn!
Iโm sure the guests staying in the boutique accommodation holiday let by the pub will appreciate such views.
I wonder if itโll be abandoned on the fellside tomorrow? How much litter is left behind? Maybe fire pits that harm the land? ๐ค๐ค

Letโs all spread the word about irresponsible fires, โfly campingโ and litter within our national parks and the countryside ๐
Did a talk for the Keswick Film Festival at Rheged today. Clips/tales from my multi-award winning films about the #lakedistrict plus a preview of a public information cartoon Iโve been working about litter/โfly campingโ which went down a storm! #litter #nature #countrysidecode
Spring has (more or less) sprung!
Ground nesting bird season is upon us and also very soon #lambingseason
๐พKeeping dogs on a lead helps avoiding disturbing ground nesting birds
๐It also helps to protect young livestock
Thank you๐#TakeTheLead #CountrysideCode #lambing
๐ Let's #LeadOn Together ๐
Weโre proud to support the Lead On campaign, raising awareness about the importance of keeping dogs on leads around livestock.
Itโs not just about protecting sheep & lambsโit's about keeping your dog safe too.

Whatโs happening?! Why are so many folk โfly campingโ leaving abandoned camps and litter that has become endemic in OUR BEAUTIFUL #lakedistrict? ๐๐ข Off my own back Iโve a new documentary out soon about the issues for a YouTube premiere ๐ฅ

Are there aspects of the #CountrysideCode that could be updated? ๐ถ
To ensure that it's still relevant to #landmanagers and #countryside visitors alike, a new survey has been launched to shape the Countryside Code going forwards.

Out around Ladybower and yet more stupid stone stacks to knock over. The work is never done.

Anyone fancy popping round Wastwater a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) this evening and letting these fools know itโs illegal to be camping there, making fires and even driving on to the land? ๐๐๐๐ข๐ #lakedistrict #flycamping #overtourism #countrysidecode
Unfortunately, I reside at the other side of the county and canโt help educate folk ๐ข
We can't wait to get out into the countryside this summer ๐ but we won't be leaving anything behind ๐ฏ
Please pop your litter in a bin, or take it home if there isn't one.
Please follow The #CountrysideCode and help to keep the great outdoors great ๐
