Around a fifth (56) of #Maracs recorded no victim/survivors as being disabled *at all*. This is either a huge gap in referral process, or gaps in working with a v/s to identify and appropriately record their disability. #CryforHealth
Only 8.2% people whose high risk #domesticabuse situation is referred to #Marac are identified as being disabled. Should be 19%+. Strong link to the fact a tiny 2.2% of referrals come from primary health, same for 2nd-ary/acute health. #CryforHealth

@SNorburn1 @NHSEngland @IgguldenLara Sustainable funding has been *very* hard to come by, even for long-est. hospital Idva services. In #CryforHealth 2016 we created the business case, updating with @STagainstDA_ and #Pathfinder partners in the toolkit published in June. Needs top-down support, hope that's coming!
We continue to call for every A&E in the country to have domestic abuse specialists (Idvas) on site to respond to victims right then, right there. Great to hear @NHSEngland say they are working to 'expand this service' 🤞#domesticabuse #cryforhealth https://t.co/2lq0hnDAxD
For more information and evidence of the role of the Hospital Idva and the impact they can have, take a look at our #CryForHealth report #WholeHealth https://t.co/A6BoozeY1y
I was listening to @Dr_Black on @BBCWomansHour talking about her #VaginalMesh issues when I bumped into a friend who’s had awful complications following a hysterectomy - we need #EqualHealth - please sign the @WEP_UK petition to ban the mesh https://t.co/lzYgk4ZVLC #CryForHealth
We’re out talking to voters in Islington today - looking forward to having a chat on your doorstep! ☔️ 🚪 @WEP_UK #islington #gla2020 #londonassembly #canvassing #endvawg #equalityforall #useyourvote #shareyourvote #cryforhealth
When I was a little girl, they used to mutter “women’s problems”. Underfunding, lack of research into women’s health & failure to listen to women patients’ pain & needs are everybody’s problem. #EqualHealthcare is a core objective of Women’s Equality Party @WEP_UK #CryForHealth
Vaginal mesh implants have been in the news for years and reported on extensively by @BBCWomansHour etc yet still not banned. Please add your voice and stories of inequalities in health #CryForHealth @WEP_UK
The #vaginalmesh scandal displays how women are being let down by the health services again and again
@WEP_UK @ManduReid @Dr_Black I spent 10 years begging the Dr’s to take my pain seriously. I was sent to 2 psychiatrists, given addictive painkillers for way too long, then treated like a junkie even when I had managed to reduce my need to emergencies only. I stand with @Dr_Black #CryForHealth #EqualHealth
10 yrs ago I experienced headache pain & lack of balance beyond what I knew from twice monthly #MenstrualMigraine since my teens. My GP could not diagnose. When I proposed #PeriMenopause I was told with a shrug “probably” offered nothing. Women’s health must be treated equally
When my mum had a heart attack, she was seen by various medical professionals, trying to diagnose if she had or not.
@WEP_UK is campaigning for London to have the first Women’s Research Institute.
Vote Women’s Equality Party for a more equal London!

So angry that @Dr_Black has been through so much pain and worry - I support a worldwide ban on vaginal mesh implants
So proud + glad to have had her as our @WEP_UK mayoral candidate but grateful to @ManduReid for stepping up

@sarahjessica1 I believe & the evidence shows that new mothers are particularly vulnerable to prolapse of the pelvic organs. We need to take special care of women at this vulnerable time & provide access & practical support to attend postnatal Physiotherapy sessions. #CryForHealth
.@Dr_Black’s experience is typical of many mothers whose health gets spoilt by poor healthcare after giving birth. @nhs should be investing in jobs for Physiotherapists, Midwives & Nurses to care for new mothers not opting for quick-fix botched surgery #CryForHealth #VaginalMesh
Women’s pain and health issues are too often disregarded. I had an IUD implanted by a bullying male GP bc he was the only 1 qualified in the surgery. It was painful and traumatic.
I’m so angry that @Dr_Black & countless others have experienced this! 😡 😢
#CryForHealth @WEP_UK
I’m devastated that #vaginalmesh has forced @Dr_Black to stand down as @WEP_UK candidate Her story is every woman’s story: women’s pain + symptoms are routinely misdiagnosed, or mistreated. I’m determined to stick up for women everywhere, starting by standing to be #MayorOfLondon
There are so many creative methods used by health professionals to safely reach out to people experiencing domestic abuse. Our #CryForHealth research highlights the impact of this vital route to support https://t.co/rrQDyHTRgd
this is excellent.
kudos to the anonymous internet person who posted it and the facility implementing it.
We continue to be really proud of this research and the impact has had - most recently a commitment on hospital Idvas in the #DABill. Locating specialist domestic abuse in hospitals helps us to reach some of the most vulnerable victims much earlier #CryForHealth
Finally published our evaluation of hospital IDVAs! #cryforhealth #safelives #domesticabusebill https://t.co/OwTQrv9EL7 @_5andi @capcbristol @DV_Bristol @safelives_

Further evidence for the urgent need to better integrate maternal health (mental and physical) and domestic abuse responses - abuse often escalates in pregnancy #CryforHealth #Invest2EndAbuse #enddomesticabuse

@DAWestMercia @WMWomensAid This is absolutely brilliant news Liz, it really is. #CryforHealth was published nearly 3 years ago now, we need all local areas to follow this example and #Invest2EndAbuse
