Because the african American community doesnโt push students to study humanities. Itโs either doctor or lawyer. Iโm in a program with 5 black students. 5. It is a rare commodity for black students to be in history programs, especially studying African American.
Of all the things that happened this year, #Curategate will be the one I will never forget. Folks went UP for absolutely no reason and gaslit everyone that disagreed.

I have seen a couple apologies - 1 sincere, 1 more in the vein of "let's hear all sides/all lives matter" - and 1 give no apology/acknowledgment at all. But #CurateGate feels like, when the shit got thick, they all sold out their culture/attacked their people for an "ally."
Lastly, I am not trying to erase nor minimize the frustration of people who want to engage in respectful dialogue with subject matter experts or industry insight. When that fails to happen, especially in the case of #CurateGate, the backlash is wholly understandable
