#Hyderabad : #CyberCells for #CyberSecurity The CP @CVAnandIPS of @hydcitypolice inaugurated Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCCs) across all 7 zones in the city to provide decentralised, swift, and effective solutions to the escalating threat of #CyberCrime . The move comes against a backdrop of a surge in cybercrime cases over the past decade, from 351 cases in 2015 to 3,111 in 2024, sharpest rise between 2019 and 2020, when cases nearly doubled from 1,393 to 2,550, due to increased online activity during the Covid Pandemic: 2015 - 351 cases 2016 - 267 cases 2017 - 304 cases 2018 - 428 cases 2019 - 1393 cases 2020 - 2550 cases 2021 - 2066 cases 2022 - 2457 cases 2023 - 2984 cases 2024 - 3111 cases The ZCCs will work closely with the Cyber Crimes Police Station (CCPS) for technical support and expertise. A total of 61 officers were deployed across the ZCCs, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, police constables, and home guards.

The ZCCs will work closely with the Cyber Crimes Police Station (CCPS) for technical support and expertise.
