9/ 🏆 I made it! My health is not the best at the moment and I was a worried how I'd cope with everything. But I've managed to not entirely run out of spoons 🥄🥄 (although I did have to skip a talk today for a nap in the garden) #spoonie #ChronicIllness #DARTS8
8/ 💭 More conferences should be in places like Dartington - the self-containedness of the venue made the whole thing a bit less draining and the peacefulness of the surroundings aided recharge and reflection 🏰🌸⛲ #DARTS8
4/ 🔘 Kim Davis and Tara Healey have done a project @PlymUniLib called Research Sparks 💬🗨 We should find out more about this for our Research Cafes planning @ces43 @yvonnenobis #DARTS8
2/ 💡@JCLookinglass's idea of sharing the "knowledge burden" - it's easy to be overwhelmed by all the things going on in open research, but when you collaborate, as a team you can know about all the things without any individual needing to know everything about everything #DARTS8
Coming away from #DARTS8 with lots of ideas and thoughts. Thank you to the @arlgdarts committee, all the speakers and delegates, and @DartingtonTrust for great couple of days. Some things that really resonated with me / key takeaways are:

Final speaker is Aimee Watson-Cook from Newcastle talking about responsible metrics #DARTS8

First talk after lunch is from @robert_darby17 on the benefits of being involved in UKRN as an institutional member, and highlight the role that university libraries can play #DARTS8
The Essex Student journal not only introduces students to open publishing, but also shows that publishing is for everyone and boosts student confidence in their own work #DARTS8
@arlgdarts @Hannah_Crago_ outlining how the Essex Student Journal supports research culture through introducing students to publishing, as a learning tool for the students to refer to and advocacy for diamond open access @Uni_of_Essex #DARTS8
@arlgdarts the many elements of research linked, that may be created by different people, can be used by others, creating opportunities for collaborative research @alex_freeman (review also an element supported by @octopus_ac) #DARTS8
@alex_freeman comparing trad research workflows with a different approach offered by #Octopus #DARTS8
@arlgdarts these two different styles of outputs are not achieved with just the journal output system. @octopus_ac provides a platform for the primary research record, pulling all the elements of research together @alex_freeman #DARTS8
