#DATAMATTAS .....I am fortunate to have many days that I learn from being #wrongagainreilly. Today I had a rare "aha moment". Hear me out and feel free to tell me I am .....wrong.....again.....reilly.
Had one side of greens program run and back nine didn't run. Been working with a product called @SolidDew. It has done a great job distributing moisture (pic 2 and 3) but today i realized it does an even better job drying greens down uniformly (pic 3 and 4), which when I think on it could be way more useful in the Plant Health=Plant Performance matrix. Think of when a green flashed on you; rarely is it the entire green. It happens in spots. With today's sensor technology we could push playability safely and root mass conceivably at the same time.
Any thoughts?
Check this out brother: first ever ZEROS on trueness( no side to side wobble). Smoothness numbers world class as well. Pre-rolling ahead of mower with high volumetric moisture from the rain. #DATAMATTAS
Not that great on the cleanups pic 2. Probably should have skipped them. Nothing a little Monkey Shine "caint" fix.
Say it wit me: Mafia makes touchdown! Go Jags. Thanks @NFedewaturf for the work and tutorial on the STRIKE Impact Tester, the @NFL firmness/cleat meter. #DATAMATTAS I F.I.R.Mly believe that.
Check out the link for my favorite muni, Clearwater County Club. Don't know the dude but I agree.
Keep your eye out for 3 more courses anyone can play in the Tampa area transitioning to #nichegrass. Finally a win for the ever everyman golfer. #DATAMATTAS

I know I am a #DATAMATTAS guy but it doesn't mean I can't be "proof is in the puddin" guy too. I went to injection over coring close to 15 years ago. The longevity of the channels is years to months over coring and injected channels with angular sand does wonders for firming the root zone and diluting the stain area where OM grows. #daFIRM
Thank you to all the superintendents who came out for the dryject demo day! Special thank you to the vendors for donating products and merch!

When measuring green speed with a Stimpmeter, use this process to make sure you get accurate and consistent data 👇
Golf maintenance is not a game of perfect; that is why #DATAMATTAS. Plant Health should equal Plant Performance. My favorite muni. Clearwater Country Club, experienced an epic fail with mower setup 8 days ago. Established plant health aided greatly in a speedy and minty recovery
The Green team utilises soil sensors installed at varying depths in our greens. They continuously monitor moisture levels and provide real-time data. This approach forms part of our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality playing surfaces while using resources responsibly
Firm and fast. It’s a great day for some golf.
My favorite muni. I am pretty sure you can see these greens from space. #DATAMATTAS
#DATAMATTAS My favorite muni with only 5 mows total and a HOC reduction performing strong and healthy in the first 3 weeks of 2026. Pic 1 are the yields per green for 3 of the mows.
Best value in golf IMO.
As is now tradition: Assorted Greens data totals, averages and other stats for 2025

The hierarchical structure of matter, breaking it down from visible substances to their most fundamental components.
Had a group from South Fork High School Turf Department come out today and get a crash course in cup cutting, metrics collection and equipment in preparation for the Turfgrass Science Invitationl event at @GCSAA @GCSAAConference in Orlando
LOI organic matter results have landed, another fantastic year with a further reduction with our last hollow core carried out over 3 years ago now 🧐
Nearly 5 years since my appointment and have hit 🎯 with a data driven turf management approach
#biology @MonmouthshireGC
@Top100Rick @LouStagner @JMiller2511 I get the teasing part. Just want everyone to know they can take a page out of your approach to our great game as well as Lou's stat driven approach. #DATAMATTAS
Thank you to Regina Bygov & @GDRizzi of PW Grosser and @RadiusSportsLLC for presenting at our Annual Meeting on CAP 2.0. Looking forward for working with both as we advocate for the water needs of golf courses on Long Island. #Science&DataCollection matter!
