We strongly condemn the remarks made by Israeli ๐ฎ๐ฑ FM Gideon Saโar @gidonsaar regarding ๐ธ๐ด . His comments constitute an unacceptable #interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation and demonstrate a troubling #disregard for the principles of international law and respect for internationally recognized borders.
๐ธ๐ด is a sovereign state with internationally #recognized territorial integrity. The responsibility for governing and securing Somali territory rests solely with the FGS. No โforeign official has the authority to #redefine Somaliaโs territorial reality or make politically motivated statements that #undermine the sovereignty of the Somali people.
Gideon Saโarโs characterization of ๐ธ๐ด is misleading, inaccurate, and detached from the realities on the ground. ๐ธ๐ด has made #significant progress in restoring stability, rebuilding state institutions, and combating #terrorism. The extremist group Al-Shabaab has suffered #major #setbacks, losing substantial territory and operational capacity as a result of the efforts of the Somali government, its security forces, and the resilience of the Somali people. The overwhelming majority of ๐ธ๐ด is peaceful and under the authority of the Somali state.
These remarks appear to serve a political agenda rather than reflect an objective assessment of the situation in ๐ธ๐ด . Such statements risk encouraging division, fueling instability, and providing justification for external interference in the affairs of independent nations. Somalia does not need #lectures from foreign #politicians who have little understanding of the realities facing the Somali people.
We reject any attempt to portray Somalia as a #fragmented state or to suggest that portions of its territory exist outside the framework of the Somali nation. The unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia are non-negotiable principles. The Somali people have paid a heavy #price to preserve their country and will continue to defend its unity.
We know exactly what such rhetoric seeks to achieve. Attempts to weaken Somalia through divisive narratives will not succeed. We categorically reject any effort to separate any part of Somali territory from the rest of the country. Not a single #inch of Somali #land will be surrendered, detached, or removed from the Somali Republic.
Somaliaโs future will be determined by #Somalis #alone, not by foreign officials making politically charged statements from a far. Respect for sovereignty, respect for international law, and respect for the will of the Somali people must remain the foundation of all international engagement with ๐ธ๐ด.
