FOR YOU, WINE DEVOTEES, this is the second out of four posts to help sort out Piedmontese #wines. DOCG WINES 1. ALTA LANGA Among the #DOCGwines, it stands out for its pale yellow to intense gold colour, a fragrant smell and a savory flavour. 2. ROERO ARNEIS Straw in color with slightly amber reflections, this wine has a delicate and fresh aroma with a dry, bitter flavour. 3. BARBERA D'ASTI It is among the most tasted red wines of Piedmont. It has an intense odor and a dry flavor which becomes more pleasant as it ages. 4. BARBERA DEL MONFERRATO SUPERIORE It stands out among Piedmontese red wines for its ruby red colour, a vinous aroma, a dry and sometimes sparkling flavour. 5. BARBARESCO It is a red wine from Piedmont with an intense aroma similar to undergrowth fruits, a dry and harmonious flavour. 6. BAROLO It is among the most famous Piedmontese wines in the world. It is produced with Nebbiolo grapes of the Michet, Lampia and Rosé subvarieties ripened in a narrow area of the Langhe which falls under Barolo in the province of Cuneo. It has a garnet red color with orange reflections, a characteristic, pleasant and intense scent. It has a dry and robust flavor. The minimum alcohol content of this Piedmontese red is 13°, with a mandatory aging of three years and five years for the "reserve". The Barolo Chinato denomination is permitted for aromatized wine, prepared using Barolo as a base. 7. CORTESE DI GAVI This wine from Piedmont has a more or less intense straw color, with a delicate aroma and a fresh taste. 8. ERBALUCE Straw yellow in colour, it has an odor reminiscent of field holes and a dry flavour. 9. GATTINARA It is among the prized Piedmontese red wines, with a garnet red color tending towards orange. It has a delicate odor and a dry flavor with a bitter aftertaste. 10. GHEMME It is an intense Piedmont DOCG red wine with brick-like reflections after long maturation, a scent of violets and a bitter taste at the end. 11. MOSCATO It is a wine with a bright straw yellow color, with an intense aroma and musky aroma. In the mouth it is delicately sweet, also welcome as a refreshing summer drink. 12. DOGLIANI This wine has a ruby red color, a dry and almond flavour. The smell it releases is very fruity.
