Held the 17th All India "Pension Adalat" organised by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare #DoPPW.
At today's Adalat 897 pending cases cum grievances were taken up, out of which 756 cases were redressed on the spot, registering a redressal rate of 84.2 per cent. This reflects the success of the Pension Adalat initiative, which was conceived and undertaken after PM Sh @narendramodi took over in 2014.
While the Pension Adalat exercise has brought huge relief to many a senior citizen, it also sometimes provides valuable inputs for improvement in departmental working.
There are several success stories. For example, the case of Smt Chander Kanta Jally, whose husband made the supreme sacrifice as a soldier in 1973. She was sanctioned a Liberalised Family Pension. However, due to certain reasons, the family pension paid to her was lower than the amount to which she was entitled.
At the Pension Adalat, Sh Jaswinder Jally, her son, joined through video conferencing from Chandigarh and presented the grievance on behalf of his mother. The case was discussed at length. Subsequently, family pension arrears amounting to Rs. 2.02 crore were released.
ಈ ಅದಾಲತ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪಿಂಚಣಿದಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಪಿಂಚಣಿದಾರರ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಬಾಕಿಯಿರುವ 897 ಕುಂದುಕೊರತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

A delegation of All India Postal Employee Organisations called on at #DoPT headquarters, Kartavya Bhavan.
The members of the delegation hailed the Government for 'reinventing' India Post and thanked PM Sh @NarendraModi for turning it into a modern, citizen-centric service network, saying that the changes have significantly expanded the role of India Post and brought a wide range of citizen-centric services closer to people across the country. They said that India Post today goes far beyond traditional mail delivery, with faster delivery services, Aadhaar-related facilities, PAN and Passport Seva services, doorstep banking and digital pension services strengthening its public-service role.
During the interaction, the representatives spoke about the expansion of India Post’s service portfolio over the past decade, including delivery within 24 hours in applicable services, Aadhaar-related services and the availability of PAN and Passport Seva facilities through the postal network. They also spoke about the growing role of India Post in providing banking and financial services at the doorstep, particularly in rural areas.
The expansion of India Post Payments Bank and doorstep banking has enabled the postal network to take financial services to villages and households, allowing citizens to access banking facilities closer to their homes. The postal network has also expanded services such as Digital Life Certificates for pensioners, making essential pension-related services more accessible and convenient.
Bank of India participated in the 60th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop organised by DoPPW, supporting retiring Central Government employees with guidance on post-retirement benefits and seamless pension services.

"Many pension disputes arise because existing rules have failed to keep pace with changing societal needs. The ultimate objective of pension administration should be to prevent litigation through timely policy reforms rather than resolving disputes after they reach the court.
Therefore, the need is to revisit the Pension rules, from time to time, to minimise litigation and strengthen the welfare of senior citizens. Over the last decade, the government headed by PM Sh @narendramodi has done away with several regulations inherited from earlier administrative frameworks that tended to create hardship for citizens.
Grievance redressal should not be viewed merely as disposal of cases but as an important mechanism for policy improvement. Government aims to ultimately build a Zero-Litigation Pension ecosystem".
