This weeks #historicpost shows a barn raising in #ParrySound from the #DaveThomasCollection.
Thomas notes that "all of the material for this barn were hand hewn. It was a neighborly event. If someone lost a barn to fire, lightning, whatever, everybody around came to help them."
It’s the first day #backtoschool so we wanted to share a photograph of the first model school in Northern Ontario, taken in 1906.

According to our notes, while the train stopped to take on 💧 the engineer, Tommy Dooner, would go in for a☕️ so Blanche would get in the cab & back the train up to the tank. Once full she brought the🚂back to the station!
