The scanner item in Deep Haul does a 3000cm sphere overlap, highlights enemies and loot through walls for 8 seconds using custom depth stencil, and generates 0.4 loudness that alerts nearby AI. Information has a price. 3 charges. Use them well. #DeepHaul #indiegame

The music system in Deep Haul is a GameInstance subsystem so it persists across level transitions. Server picks the mission track index, replicates it, and all clients crossfade to the same song in sync. 2-second fade. No jarring cuts. #DeepHaul #gamedev

Built a surface-aware footstep system: line trace from the foot bone, read the physical material, look up the right sound and VFX from a data table. Metal grating sounds different from solid hull plating. Small detail, huge immersion difference. #DeepHaul #gamedev

Deep Haul's only melee weapon is a crowbar. 15cm swept sphere trace, 3 sub-steps per tick to prevent phasing through fast swings. Hit an enemy? 3-second stun + knockback. Hit a wall? Different sound, different sparks. Miss entirely? Quiet whiff. #DeepHaul #gamedev

Built a two-phase suction system for hull breaches. Outer zone: gentle pull, you can escape if you sprint. Inner zone: you're gone. The inner zone grows over 15 seconds. Every second you hesitate, the safe area shrinks. #DeepHaul #gamedev
