The bund is where the houses are built,the water pulled out via machines, garbage dump & an open toilet

HYDRAA cleared large volumes of silt from Bulkapur Nala at Tolichowki, ensuring smooth water flow and preventing overflow onto nearby roads.

#Devanikunta is a lush green lung space, a pond struggling to retain its source. Right in the middle of Hyd can we at least fence area to let the pond be what it is and prevent encroachment

@Comm_HYDRAA The encroachment on #devanikunta right on the water body is still here since 2018. Can we not simply remove it,fence the kunta from all sides and let nature fill it ,which automatically creates a rain water harvesting pit. &water is not drained out by encroachers.

🔷 గొలుసుకట్టు చెరువులతోనే వరద ముప్పును ఎదుర్కోగలమని హైడ్రా కమిషనర్ శ్రీ ఏవీ రంగనాథ్ గారు అన్నారు. వర్షపు నీరు వరద కాలువల ద్వారా నేరుగా చెరువులోకి చేరేలా ఏర్పాట్లు చేయాల్సినవసరం ఉందన్నారు. నగరీకరణలో చెరువులు, నాలాలు కబ్జాలకు గురి కావడంతో నగరాలు తరచూ ముంపునకు గురౌతున్నాయని అన్నారు. ఈ వర్షాకాలం.. ప్రమాదాలను అంచనా వేయడం.. వాటిని తగ్గించడంలో తీసుకోవాల్సిన జాగ్రత్తలపై రాష్ట్ర, జాతీయ స్థాయి డిజాస్టర్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ విభాగాలు మర్రి చెన్నా రెడ్డి మానవ వనరుల అబివృద్ధి సంస్థలో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన రెండు రోజుల సదస్సులో శుక్రవారం హైడ్రా కమిషనర్ శ్రీ ఏవీ రంగనాథ్ గారు మాట్లాడారు. నగరాల్లో చెరువులు కనుమరుగయ్యాయని.. మరీ ముఖ్యంగా హైదరాబాద్లో 61 శాతం చెరువులు కనిపించని పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడిందని అన్నారు. ఈ విషయాన్ని నేషనల్ రిమోట్ సెన్సింగ్ సెంటర్ నిర్ధారించిందన్నారు. ఉన్న 39 శాతం చెరువులను కాపాడుకోకపోతే.. అప్పుడు సంభవించే ప్రకృతి వైపరీత్యాలను అంచనా వేయడం ఎవరి తరం కాదన్నారు. ఇటీవల బెంగళూరు, ముంబయ్, దిల్లీ వరదలు చెరువులు, నాలాల పరిరక్షణ ఆవశ్యకతను గుర్తు చేస్తున్నాయి. ఒక ఎకరం విస్తీర్ణంలో ఉన్న చెరువు మీటరు లోతు నీటిని అంచనా వేస్తే 4 మిలియన్ లీటర్ల నీటిని నిలువ ఉంచుతుందని.. ఈ లెక్కన పదులు, వందల ఎకరాల పరిధిలో ఉన్న చెరువులు ఎంత నీటిని నిలువరిస్తాయో అంచనా వేయవచ్చునని అన్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే నగరంలో చెరువుల పరిరక్షణకు హైడ్రా ప్రాధాన్యతనిస్తోందన్నారు. ఎలాంటి పొరపాటుకు ఆస్కారం లేకుండా.. చెరువుల ఎఫ్టీఎల్ హద్దులను నిర్ధారించడానికి పెద్దయెత్తున కసరత్తు చేస్తున్నామన్నారు. చెరువుల్లో పూడుకుపోయిన మట్టిని తొలగించి చెరువుల లోతును పెంచేందుకు కూడా చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నాం. నగరంలో మొదటి, రెండో తరగతి (పిల్ల కాలువలు) కనుమరుగయ్యాయని.. మిగిలిన 3, 4 స్థాయి వరద కాలువలు కూడా ఎక్కడికక్కడ కబ్జాలకు గురి అయి కుంచించుకు పోయాయన్నారు. బెంగళూరు వరదలను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని అక్కడి కాలువల కబ్జాలను తొలగించాలని కర్ణాటక ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి డీకే శివకుమార్ ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేసిన విషయాన్ని ఈ సందర్భంగా గుర్తు చేశారు. మనం కూడా అప్రమత్తం కావాల్సినవసరం ఉందని.. అందుకే గొలుసుకట్టు చెరువుల పునరుద్ధరణకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం గట్టి ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోందన్నారు. హైడ్రా ఈ దిశగా చేస్తున్న కార్యక్రమాలకు నగర ప్రజలు సహకరించాలని కోరారు.
