As our search for casualties inside the 7 buildings ravaged by the inferno at #WangFukCourt,#TaiPo ended on DEC 3—#Police officers from various units began the search for bodies of the deceased & criminal evidence among debris in the area outside the buildings today (DEC 4).
Our relentless search for clues and answers across the fire-fit housing estate for both the victims of the blaze as well as concerned citizens across Hong Kong is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

On the heels of the LEVEL-5 #FIRE that’d ravaged📍#WangFukCourt in #TaiPo—officers from:
●#DisasterVictimIdentification Unit—set up by #HKPF in 1975 per @INTERPOL_HQ standards
●Identification Bureau
●other #police units
have been combing thru the wreckage at full speed since NOV 29 to follow up on the fire extinguishment as well as #SearchAndRescue work previously conducted by the Fire Services Department.
Given that bodies of the deceased continue to be found during our daily searches and that certain hospitalised persons have eventually succumbed to their injuries—the death toll has risen to 156 as of DEC 2, 2025.
Although the ongoing search for clues and answers has been fraught with difficulties—our undaunted officers will stay united and keep sparing no effort in seizing all leads, for the sake of providing closure to the families of the victims and ensuring that the deceased can be laid to rest in peace as soon as possible.
