🐪What is an S-Curve?
The S-Curve is a composition technique — a type of leading line that moves through the frame in a gentle, serpentine path resembling the letter ‘S’.
While straight leading lines often suggest speed and a sharp focus toward an object, an S-curve conveys calmness and fluidity, leading the viewer’s eye to a point of deeper interest in a smooth, winding manner.
An S-Curve often creates a relaxing and natural visual flow, helping the viewer perceive the image as part of a larger story sometimes extending beyond the frame itself.

They’re everywhere; in rivers, railway tracks, winding roads, ticket queues, or bustling flower markets.
This technique is often seen in hill station promotions, where winding roads symbolize serenity.
But let’s challenge ourselves — can we spot S-Curves in temple arches, old forts, or city streets?
