4/4 #WSTC7 #DistSesh3 CFD can be used to model conditions in colonies & how these change with wind direction. While the relationship between airflows & site selection is likely species specific false presences can indicate suitable habitat for reintroduction of declining species
3/4 #WSTC7 #DistSesh3 A model of air pressure (varies w exposure) & slope predicted 80% of largest colonies on @skomer_island. The same model predicted 73% of largest colonies on @SkokholmIsland highlighting generality in mechanisms of site selection

4/4 #WSTC7 #DistSesh3 Our regional project, involving multiple Caribbean nations, explores habitat use and connectivity of frigatebird populations. We are using this seabird to identify priority hotspots for protection, and provide opportunities to enhance regional conservation
3/4 #WSTC7 #DistSesh3 Sex differences in brown boobies may relate to kleptoparasitism: Video loggers revealed that larger females remain closer to shore than males, and were the only sex targeted by kleptoparasitic magnificent frigatebirds #CaribSeabirds
