We should really have shared these as part of the #DullestObject #CURATORBATTLE earlier in the year? #Museum30 #Button
Behold! A shard of glass and a kettle with no bottom!...HCHS curatorial staff responding to the question "What is the most boring item in your collection?" #AskACurator #dullestobject
For our #DullestObject, we present this unremarkable eye bath. It is just the same as the one in your bathroom cabinet at home. #AskACurator
A question for anyone on #AskACurator - what is the most unremarkable object in your museum's collection? #dullestobject @CultureThemes
@_museumguy @CultureThemes I might be a bit sluggish to reply, but ours could be a collection of ordinary introduced garden snails - probably the most common the world. - Darryl #dullestobject #AskACurator
Our most unremarkable object in the Εtautau Museum Collection... and not even an object, it is a photo!! We are continuing to ask, why would someone have donated a PHOTO of candlesticks? Ok, they are very lovely candlesticks, but WHY??!! #dullestobject @CultureThemes @_museumguy

With my best serious curator voice on: 'This metal nail with square head was taken from Robe Prison (1861), in South Australia... it represents the changes that Robe underwent in the late 19th century' #AskACurator #DullestObject

@BradfordMuseums How did I miss this? I must have been deep in a comforting snooze π΄π€ππ #CURATORBATTLE #dullestobject
@DullMuseumSnaps You did see the #CuratorBattle focusing on the #DullestObject the other week ? We know it's not *quite* the same - most of the photos are in focus, but we'd hate to think you'd missed the gems shared there....
For those that weren't with us on this exciting #CURATORBATTLE journey from the start, it began 6 weeks ago with #dullestobject!
Have a read through these hilarious responses and see where it all started! π₯ #museumsfromhome

As we're closed, we're looking into our collections and there's some great stuff... but some 'dull' stuff too.
This is an iron rod...
(Although dull looking, it is over 1000 years old and was found in an Anglo-Saxon burial ground!)
BEAT THAT? #DullestObject
@MuseumSheffield @YorkAdventurers @EBMuseum @YorkshireMuseum @MuseumCrush @MuseumsTogethe1 @LeedsMuseums @BradfordMuseums @CliftonParkMus @Northlincmuseum @WFMuseums @SMTrust We're all probably lucky I haven't got pictures of all of them! I'm not sure if this is an appliance but I'd like to enter it for #DullestObject I give you.... a sink drainer!
#MuseumAlphabet I is for Iron: One of the first electric irons after the move away from gas. It's also a contender for #DullestObject @YorkshireMuseum

@YorkshireMuseum @YorkCastle @SMTrust @BarnsleyMuseums @WFMuseums @BradfordMuseums @LeedsMuseums @ERidingLMA @Hull_Museums Me: And this is part the ballast of the HMB Endeavour, thrown overboard when they struck the Great Barrier Reef...
Student: It's a rock?
Me: Yes...but it was very important balance the ship... Fine, do you want to go on the submarine instead?

@_museumguy @nma It's a well known fact that @maasmuseum has a dust collector in its stores #DullestObject #CuratorBattle
Archaeology is super interesting. What about the @nmaβs βYellow dusting clothβ #1991.0053.0006.003 #DullestObject #CuratorBattle

@SushmaJansari I see your extremely dull stick and raise you an extremely dull unworked stone of unknown date and unknown provenance. In @YorkshireMuseum archaeology collection...for some unknown reason.
