🚲This interurban cycleway links residential areas with education, employment, commercial and recreational sites through high quality active travel infrastructure
🦺 This section of the enhanced route is approximately 1.8km long and connects Carrigtwohill to Fota Retail & Business Park via Cobh Cross. providing safe connectivity and recreation space for cyclists and pedestrians.
➡️ Funded by the National Transport Authority and forms part of the Inter-Urban Demonstrator Cork – Waterford Pathfinder Project.

An 'eye-watering' €200m for a roundabout & spaghetti junction for cars at the #Dunkettle.
A total waste of money or exactly what's needed to further induce demand for moar mOAaarrrr lanes & congestion?
Who said the #Dunkettle interchange works would end the traffic congestion?
As we headed home towards the M8 we were in a long queue of vehicles heading for the tunnel!
🚶🚲 We are currently progressing a shared pedestrian and cycle route between Dunkettle and #Midleton as part of the national Pathfinder programme.
👨👩👧👦 A 6km section between #Dunkettle and The Elm Tree in #Glounthaune is already open, with parking, pocket parks and picnic areas along the route, it’s a great amenity for all.
🚶🚲 Our Sustainable Travel Unit is currently working to link this section with #Carrigtwohill and works are scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

Did full loop from #Dunkettle to #Glanmire & back with the lads on Sun. Challenging loop for small legs but just about managed.Last section in Dunkettle where no greenway is present at moment proving most challenging but work here is due to commence later this yr.

The project will address many of the challenges that drivers using the old Dunkettle roundabout faced & alleviate congestion on the South Ring Road
#Dunkettle upgrade or whatever it is was announced as a €100m construction project. Today we're hearing €215m. Its not even an extreme outlier. Limerick Tunnel was to cost €94m.
It cost AT LEAST €640m.

Latest stretch of the greenway now open in Rock Grove, opposite #LittleIsland train station connecting #Glounthaune to #Dunkettle. Just one last stretch of the greenway remains along the Dunkettle Road itself connecting to #Glanmire
