#EDU323 A2: When reading books for fun I liked to pick easier books that I could comprehend independently! Reading above level is also important for students as long as we provide supports so they can engage with parts of the text they may not understand on their own!
@jjsuperhero A2: I had an experience today where reading "below" level was helpful! A student who struggles with confidence read a book fluently and in its entirety today - he was so proud of himself! He then felt more sure of himself when moving on to an "on level" book. #ElonEd #EDU323

@lwilson_22 @jjsuperhero I really like the idea of including "I Can" statements. My teacher makes standards student friendly by explaining what more difficult words mean, but stating them in a way that is also positive and encouraging sounds like a great strategy that I would want to use #EDU323 #ElonEd

@jjsuperhero A1: I have observed my cooperating teacher works on "unpacking the standard" to begin the transition to Work on Writing each day, but this usually happens a little later on in the morning. Right now, we are working on narrative writing! #ElonEd #EDU323
