The Magic Lantern UK website has a pdf article by Laurent #Mannoni that includes Jacques #DésiréFenaut being in #Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) in 1877, making a “solar lantern for opaque objects,” i.e., an Episcope (an opaque projector in the Magic-Lantern family). He styled himself a dealer/maker of optical apparatus Mannoni tells us.
