In North America, Montgomery, Alabama was the first location worldwide said to have a system of electric trams. Established in 1886. It was known as the "lightning route." After exactly 50 years, the city discontinued their tram system. #ElectricTrams #MontgomeryAlabama

THE END OF A JOURNEY #DidYouKnow? #Trams ran in #Mumbai for close to 90 years! The first tram service in the city was horse-drawn and services started on May 9, 1874. 33 years later on May 7, 1907, #ElectricTrams were introduced. And on this day, 59 years ago, at 10 pm, the city bid goodbye to the tram on its last journey from #BoriBunder to #DadarTT. #TodayInMumbaiHistory #ThisDayThatYear #MumbaiHistory #MumbaiHeritage #TransportHeritage #BEST #MumbaiTransportation #Bombay #TransportHistory

Electric trams were around #Adelaide earlier than you might have realised🚋 1879 steam trams from #PortAdelaide to Albert Park later replaced by horse-drawn trams then 1917 #electrictrams took over from PtAdel, Largs, Semaphore, Albert Park + Rosewater👉https://t.co/9rIAf9whku
