#OTD 18 May 1904 1st #Electrictrams ran in #Leicester. The power was turned on @ 2pm. Decorated trams lead a tour carrying the mayor, councillors & tramway officials from Leicester to Stoneygate. A cost of £134,110 = 39 trams, 30 buses, 375 horses, 9 miles of track & buildings.
