🌱Thank you Chinese American Democratic Club for your endorsement!
In February, I stood with #CCSFChinatown students & faculty at the #EmergencyBridgeFund protest. I spoke to protect #ESL which was drastically cut, w/ a librarian translating beside me in Chinese. (1/2)
@jennifer_jserra @AaronPeskin @hknightsf We at #CityCollegeofSanFrancisco also had no support from #AaronPeskin earlier this year for our #EmergencyBridgeFund. With so many jobless & students can't pay $$$$ tuition for 4-year schools, many need #CCSF.
ESL classes have been cut. There are no counselors right now.
When the Trustees are saying they have been ceaselessly lobbying to get funding for our school, are they assuming students/teachers aren’t doing anything??
We got meetings too w/ state legislators. We didn’t get Trustees lobby w/ us for #EmergencyBridgeFund. #saveccsf #ccsf #sf
@Evict_Twit_ter Trustees knew we were in financial prblms for a long time, but @adrandolph when he was President of the #CCSFBOT could not even tell students how much in deficit (just saying #EmergencyBridgeFund wasn’t going to pass/we need more money than that) or how much that D.C. trip cost.
@Evict_Twit_ter Some of these Trustees didn’t even help advocate for our #EmergencyBridgeFund earlier this year.
Some also happily took a trip to D.C. to “advocate for #CCSF” yet we still did not get any additional funding, no financial controller for far too long, & students felt abandoned.
@BluebirdRave @stevoncook @sfexaminer @DavidCampos @SandraLeeFewer @NormanYeeSF @RafaelMandelman @SupStefani FYI, #catherinestefani, #rafaelmandelman, and #normanyee we’re unsympathetic when #CCSF tried to talk to them about the #emergencybridgefund. Some Supervisors have privilege to turn away from students, teachers, #SF residents who rely on public education.
@goldengazelle @RafaelMandelman .@RafaelMandelman doesn’t really care to support science & engineering classes or else he could have voted to restored them #CCSF via the #emergencybridgefund.
He voted “no” three times for #CityCollege students in need. Once in Budget Finance Committee & twice in #SFBOS mtg.
Overriding the #EmergencyBridgeFund is not an option - sadly, we were unable to open up the vote. Thank you everyone that supported us all - students, groups, faculty, supervisors (@shamannwalton, @DeanPreston, etc), legislative aides (esp @PresEKil)
Any #CCSF students want join a student coalition?
Get involved with other students & supporters of City College! .@CCSFCollective @CcsfSays @SMAC_CCSF @theguardsman @BemaCcsf @CCSF_Cyber_Club @CCSF_CW @ForumCCSF
Let’s unite together and continue to power this movement!
@LondonBreed it is a distressing to hear that the #EmergencyBridgeFund was vetoed. It could have passed with 7 supervisors in support. Now that we are seeking an override, will @NormanYeeSF @SupStefani or @AaronPeskin decide to stand by us, or take away our chance too?
The icing on the incredibly sad cake that was today: the Mayor vetoed emergency funding for City College, and it got zero press coverage. Not that press coverage would help the tens of thousands of students and teachers this hurt.
As #CCSF students, we refuse to give up on #EmergencyBridgeFund.
If there is a possibility of #RestoreSpring, we'll go for it! @DeanPreston @MattHaneySF you've both expressed wanting an override. Does that still stand? Can we, and other student groups, work together with you?
Great article explaining some of #CityCollege’s class cuts & state of the college.
Last semester’s class cuts (#viciousclasscuts) in context to previous semesters/how they were executed. Students need the #emergencybridgefund that the Mayor vetoed!

@tbreisacher 8 student organizers delivered #MayorLondonBreed a piece of art asking for compassion, help by supporting the #EmergencyBridgeFund.
It’s not worth nearly 6k, but it’s made from #SanFrancisco’s own #CityCollege student artivist .@goldengazelle!
Not a bandaid but a suture.
@LondonBreed #Chinatown students at our rally called you to pass #EmergencyBridgeFund, please do not veto. Help #CCSF students, we need you!
As always, @EskSF has a great take. Including why in the world the highest paid mayor in the country — who has a chauffeured car always at the ready — needed $5,600 from Mohammed Nuru to fix her 18-year-old clunker. The story just keeps getting weirder. https://t.co/YtCjmXIAfJ
@LondonBreed here is @SFJAZZ supporting #EmergencyBridgeFund, please help students get back classes and teachers at #CCSF!
Do us right @LondonBreed! By vetoing the #EmergencyBridgeFund you are saying no to us students. Today you can decide to help us - we need you! #CCSF
@LondonBreed please do not veto #EmergencyBridgeFund today, give students our opportunities!
#CCSF serves a spectrum of students. Watch below to see how students deal with the cost of living in San Francisco, thank you @BloomTV for covering this!
Dorm rooms are tiny, but these @OfficialCCSF students have taken college living even smaller. Faced with San Francisco's soaring rent, they're #MakingItInTheBay by building tiny homes inside vans and work trucks. We met them, and went inside. FULL STORY: https://t.co/k92Hav1M7L
$2.7 million in #EmergencyBridgeFund may or may not be passed today. @LondonBreed do us students right and do not veto the funds that can help #CCSF get back over 300 classes that were cut, over 100 part time instructors that lost their jobs or healthcare benefits!
Supervisor Hillary Ronen calls for London Breed to resign over the mayor’s acceptance of nearly $6,000 in undisclosed gifts from Mohammed Nuru last year: https://t.co/dLG8rKDaUQ
#CCSF students are hoping the $2.7 million funds to restore our classes and bring back our teachers does not get vetoed by @LondonBreed in the wake of this. #EmergencyBridgeFund #ViciousClassCuts
UPDATE: Supervisor @HillaryRonen calls on @LondonBreed to resign for accepting an illegal $5,600 gift from Mohammed Nuru
Nuru is under FBI investigation for public corruption.

@LondonBreed would you let #EmergencyBridgeFund pass? The #ViciousClassCuts affects the arts, with 100 art-related class sections CUT.
Will you be my Arts Advocate Valentine?
Younger generations are watching how our Mayor .@LondonBreed and @jennyhlam respond to students in crisis.
Please support the #emergencybridgefund and help students in need!!
