🆘 Hello Plymouth Hospitals @UHP_NHS,
The conduct of your Physician Assistants is literally verging on criminality.
⭕️ They operate as the lead surgeon (and first assist) on patients, including kiddies and CANCER patients 💀💀, while junior doctors are stuck on the wards doing service provision tasks.
⭕️ Leading on lumbar puncture and ascitic drain procedures—and even signing off their supervisors (resident doctors)?
⭕️They are on Registrar rotas + bossing doctors around!
⭕️ I kid you not, they have been caught prescribing using consultants' login credentials, which is illegal and punishable by law.
⭕️ OSCE examiners for both PAs and medical students?? What quality of homegrown doctors will we be seeing?
⭕️ Wearing BMA lanyards with their ID cards facing inwards—so you'd assume they’re doctors.
⭕️ Involved in governance boards and controlling SHO rotas—you need to please your PA overlords just to get annual leave.
Is this a hospital or a circus run solely by PAs who are keen to have a go at anything?
Absolutely dangerous.
@ERunswickBMA @AlderHey @Mike88881221 Join us outside Alder Hey tomorrow 10-2pm to protest the removal ofour NHS replaced with multiple American Systems
Replacement of Drs, Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Midwives etc is a symptom of decades-long americanisation

#EndPAExperiment #AskForADr
they are questioning the mandate of politicians, NHSE, Royal Colleges and unions to push through the restructuring of health on the US model & they are talking about patient safety being paramount- which should have always been the first consideration
