I don’t want a nurse with no GCSES and no medical degree operating on me . I don’t care what dodgy ‘Masters ‘ he claims to have done .
WE NEED DOCTORS @jamesmurray_ldn @karinsmyth @SKinnock @PreetKGillMP not noctors .
Patients don’t want this ! #nurse #nhsquackery #askforadr
Urology Patients of @NHSForthValley
Did you know that your surgeon could be a nurse?
❌Working autonomously
❌own urology clinics making assessing pts making a diagnosis
❌own list in theatres performing circumcisions , vasectomies , frenuloplasty & Penile biopsies
@iDrSunny @Shr_Nottingham Actually, colleagues like @davehartin, blocking/disengaging with fellow Consultants who call out his irrational support for Medically unqualified staff to work as Drs is irrelevant. Our posts are being read by the public/patients. Must continue to empower patients to #AskforaDr
People of Sheffield BEWARE‼️There are anaesthetists (Drs with years of experience), and pretend anaesthetists (anaesthetist associates (minimally trained dependent healthcare workers -DHW's). For the safety of yourself, your family & friends, don't be fooled. Always #AskForADr ‼️
Surprise surprise
One’s a bully, the other has a massive COI
@tillytog01 @Sadhbh_PA @Pseudomonal Sorry you've had to go through this Tilly. It's totally unacceptable that patients are facing anxiety worrying about the incompetence of the untrained person opposite us. This is not what we pay our taxes for - we deserve & should demand better.

@ExplosiveEnema2 We need physical protests around the country to alert public/patients of the danger to their lives & their rights, & to alert staff to the danger of this trojan horse workforce

@DrHWazir Even nurses & other staff surely recognised it wasn't just a nose bleed? No safeguards, no checks. And now they are legalising state murder while removing minimal safeguards
#StateMurder #RenationaliseHealth #AskForADr
@LBC PA's scope of practice is scary and unsafe. No one wants them to assist in surgery or lead on childrens health etc, as they dont have the knowledge or experience, but that is whats been happening.
These pretend Drs are on more pay than registered NHS staff- crazy
#askforaDR
The one thing no one has mentioned re PA issue is that there is a huge mistrust some communities have with Health Orgs and now we add people who are cos playing as Drs. PAs should be honest about their role. Thats the crux of the matter , their honesty. #AskForADr
There are some worrying and upsetting issues raised in this article about the treatment of NHS staff at work and online.
There is no place for this behaviour - all NHS staff should be able to do their jobs without fear of threats or abuse.

When corporate CEOs & "NHS Bosses”are the same people, going thru revolving doors to ever more lucrative powerful positions regardless of the damage they do to our health, regardless of excess deaths & suffering-you know you no longer have a NHS as Bevan intended #AskForADr 4/4
@ERunswickBMA @AlderHey @Mike88881221 Join us outside Alder Hey tomorrow 10-2pm to protest the removal ofour NHS replaced with multiple American Systems
Replacement of Drs, Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Midwives etc is a symptom of decades-long americanisation

This tragically avoidable death has been enabled by every single organisation that is pushing the PA role despite the enormous risks to patient safety.
We the public want *Drs* delivering our healthcare. There are *NO* safe shortcuts.

Susan died following grossly inappropriate and negligent care by a PA. We are told time and time again that these cases are rare, but they shouldn't be happening. PAs simply must act within their competence; something that hasn't been happening.

@MHG1910 @physicianassoci @DrAnimeshSingh I've seen many PA job descriptions saying "no experience required" so nothing surprises me about PAs anymore. I simply despair 😫. And spread the word to people I know in person & on this platform. The entire general public need to do this too to stay safe

@KadeF96 It seems they have been taught that they are uniquely qualified to add value, but offer nothing that existing fully trained medical staff can’t do without being supervised. The videos and outrageous lack of concern for patient confidentiality don’t help #gotomedschool #askforadr
@iDrSunny I've read this very interesting thread & think the worst thing of all is that the PA, in all likelihood had no idea of any ramifications of their ego saying 'yes, me' in that context. The only thought was for their halo, when in fact they should have been terrified.

@DodgyEviction @PatrickMackle4 @UKLabour I'm not holding my breath. Quite possible they'll continue where the Tories left off. Really hope I'm wrong🤞🏽 We all need to push back against replacing our highly trained & skilled Drs with poorly qualified PAs&AAs. This is a huge pt safety issue.

@ollieburtonmed @FPARCP @RCPhysicians @gmcuk My shorthand understanding of this is that a 2yr training in PA Studies will *never* replace the rigorous training of doctors:5-6years of medschool followed by 2yrs postgrad training, then up to 10yrs specialist training.
100% incomparable.
100% not interchangeable.

@philwalker56 Thank you @philwalker56 🙏🏼
We desperately need patients to speak up & say “NO, I want to see someone who is qualified to assess/treat/manage a new symptom or problem, manage chronic illness, look through my medication list & do opportunistic work at the same time”.
#AskForADr
I’m not sure how much clearer I can be…
If I have a new symptom or problem I don’t want or expect to see a PA, who has done a 2yr course of which 1 MONTH is in general practice.
Or one that chooses which specialty to work in like picking a paint colour👇🏼.
