The draft should be abolished. It is a violation of the 13th amendment prohibition on involuntary servitude. It is state-sanctioned slavery.
The US gov has the power to do this to us. We are far from free people if the government can force our 16 year old children to fight in a war that they themselves are responsible for in the first place. #EndTheDraft
One of the many painful lessons we can learn from the Ukraine/Russia conflict is that the military draft is cruel and should be abolished. No one should be forced to fight in a war.
The 13th Amendment abolished slavery, yet somehow the draft remains.
As this post so callously points out, your government expects you to fight and die for it, even if you're the last of your family line.
