Just a little reminder...

The Rebel or Yankee quiz was very interesting. It was very different from what I had expected it to be.

The Tedtalk was very interesting to learn about. What stuck with was the ending where it says “The next time you hear a foreign language, pay attention. It may not be as foreign as you think.”

Linguistically, I think #Deadwood captures the essence of colorful language. And, the language is historically accurate too. Can't beat it! #Eng211Fall21
The closing statement of this week’s TedTalk, “The next time you hear a foreign language, pay attention. It may not be as foreign as you think.” really resonated with me. I definitely hear some Tagalog words in other languages. #ENG211Fall21
I’m currently working on my paper and I can’t tell you how appreciative I am to have gone through the prior steps of an annotated bibliography and outline. The paper is flowing seamlessly. Now it’s just getting through the time it’s going to take to write it. #eng211fall21
Here is a "cool" graph I found in my research.
Do you use any of these "rad" words?

What I took from our readings/videos this week is you cannot force a 2nd language. Ones native tongue will help build foundations for language rules. We learn when we understand. Without nurturing those foundations there is nothing to connect the dots to.

Watching Dr Krashen this week, his last topic really stuck with me: writing helps problem solving. It gives better, clearer ideas. He also said good readers write good papers. Does this mean good readers are by default good problem solvers?

The outline is helping me not feel so overwhelmed with the research paper. #ENG211Fall21
In the #TedTalk, @leaningshane provided some valuable tips for parents to further educate their children in their "Mother Tongue" - Review/Read/Relax. I prefer Read - it's so important to read to your kids, especially when trying to improve their bilingual aptitude #Eng211Fall21
I put what I’ve learned to practical use today. A friend had asked why it’s so much more difficult to learn languages as an adult. I answered with …critical period hypothesis suggests that children up to age 6 have an easier time learning languages than adults. #eng211fall21
Just completed my annotated bibliography. I'm hoping this takes a lot of the stress away from starting the writing process! #ENG211Fall21
#eng211fall21 amiright??
I’m almost done writing my annotated bibliography. What I found was that I have learned a lot about my topic reading articles and studies that I ultimately did not want to use for my annotated bibliography. I’ve definitely enjoyed the process so far. #eng211fall21
Trying to pick sources for the essay is a little difficult, I always worry if the sources I pick are good ones or not.

One down side to an annotated bibliography… SO MUCH READING!! I feel like my eyes are about to pop out of my head. 4 complete.. at least one more but I’ll probably do more!
For the most part, I think annotated bibliographies are a waste of time. I would rather put the effort of summarizing a source into the actual paper. #ENG211Fall21
I was able to get a meeting with the @NevadaState librarian, and she taught me to how to locate resources for an upcoming #Eng211Fall21 paper. I'd definitely recommend it to my fellow classmates!

I might be overthinking this annotated bibliography but I am struggling to find good strong sources!
