Similarly, all the languages and ethnic groups together create a beautiful society.
What if I told you there is a tiny plant, hidden in the Nilgiri montane grasslands of the Western Ghats, that offers a masterclass in water conservation ? Hedyotis verticillaris is a remarkable plant whose rosette-shaped leaves trap and store water at their centre, creating miniature reservoirs in a landscape shaped by strong winds, mist and seasonal dryness. When summer dries the grasslands, wildlife including gaur, sambar and even the Nilgiri tahr are believed to sip from these tiny water stores. Every species therefore has a purpose. Every ecosystem has its own genius and we must learn to appreciate these wonders. #WorldEnvironmentDay #ClimateAction #NowForClimate Video: @supriyasahuias #TNForest
Cut the trees, dump mud and gravel, and slowly erase the water body. That’s how LAKES are converted into LAND through encroachment carried out in broad daylight.
Zoom in closely, and you can spot three security guards sitting under the small tree. #SavePattandurAgraharaLake
Illegal hill blastings,
Large scale sand mining,
Falling of ground water levels
All these led to scorching heat at 48°C
@Seeman4TN said these very things ..
It takes time to realize .. But then it will be too late
Very valid point #Environment_first

Wild elephants are already angry at the railway line. Please check this real time story. Why disturb them with new railway lines? As such India stands 2nd in the world for destruction of forests in the last 5 years. #Environment_first Please scrap the Nanjanagudu-Nilambur railway survey.

Elephants Get Their Revenge
Months ago, a mother elephant and her calf were killed by a train near a rural rail line. At the time, it was written off as a tragic accident. Now, something strange is happening.Rail workers have captured footage of a herd of elephants entering a train yard not wandering, but targeting specific train cars. They push, ram, and try to flip them.
At first, it seemed random.Until officials checked the records. The train being targeted is the exact same one involved in the fatal incident. Not a similar train. The same one. Even more chilling the elephants ignore every other train nearby. Experts say elephants have incredible memory and strong emotional bonds, but this behavior feels different. “ It’s not random,” one researcher said. “It’s deliberate.”

We need to rebuild our care and responsibility to the natural world, acknowledging nature as something we humans are deeply part of, instead of apart from. #environment_first https://t.co/VEPUBNK0hm
