Every year we allow the bramble from next door to wind through our patio trellis. This year it’s reached up & is covered in flowers & bees, had to stand on a chair for this #FITcount! The flies are happy with the oxeye daisies too, though a little quiet today #LetItBloomJune

May is the best time of year for seeing wasp-like nomad bees. They can be especially common in woods, along hedges, heathland & brownfield sites. A new test key to the 39 British spp has just been released https://t.co/wLAl08PZ22. Feel free to test it out and give me feedback.

Squeezed in a September @PoMScheme #FITcount at @BTO #NunneryLakes this lunchtime. #Ivy was humming with insects, lots of Ivy Bees, Hoverflies and wasps. The app is really easy to use, give it a go if you haven't already.

Lovely day undertaking #FITCount for the @PoMScheme at #Tentsmuir_NNR. Always a joy to be here (if I can avoid the mozzies!) as there are so many pollinators visiting flowers along the numerous woodland rides, including this corking Common Blue butterfly.
Phenomenal numbers of solitary bees are nesting in the reeds of the old thatched barn @RHSHydeHall and foraging on the nearby garden flowers. We have never seen so many, almost too fast to #FITcount!!! Zoom in to see for yourself 👇😃#BeesNeedsWeek
