During elections women are intimidated by their spouses. They cannot freely support a candidate of their choice. In my constituency for example during the 2016 elections, I knew of 5 cases of physical violence against women due to this. #EndGBV #HumanRightsDay #16DAYSUG
It obviously does and to a greater extent, negatively. Violence destabilizes one's mental ability hence forcing them to vote for incompetent leaders or even withdraw from elections.

Women being the majority voters and emotional in nature, they are likely to vote against the tyrants. Forcing them out of elections is probably the best way for the greedy leaders to stay in power.
