Another extremely exciting development in which #FinBIF @lajitieto takes part is the automated #species identification based on #DNAbarcodes, sound recordings or images, in collaboration w/ @bol_fin and @LifeplanProject etc. Also very much in the interest of @SYKEint!
Today kick-off of 3rd dev.cycle of #FinBIF @lajitieto funded by @aka_firi for 2022-26. The BIG vision is integration of species data w/ environmental data through @FEO_fi, introduced here by @PVihervaara @SYKEint, but work on #digitisation and #DNAbarcoding will also continue.
It's been a looooong road indeed to where we are now w/ #FinBIF @lajitieto! So happy and admittedly proud 😌 to have had the privilege to help along the way. Today particularly happy to see my old @luomus and current @SYKEint work tightly together for the future!
