Professor Indranil Manna, Vice Chancellor BIT Mesra, Ex-Director, IIT Kanpur, Ex-Director CSIR-CGCRI, spoke on “Metallurgy in India – Ancient to New Age India and Future Potentials” in HCL’s technical session in observance of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.
Professor Khanindra Pathak, Professor and Dean (Infrastructure), IIT Kharagpur, Department of Mining Engineering, delivered lecture on “Evolution in Metal Mining: journey to ensure sustainable Mining” in HCL’s technical session in observance of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.
Shri Pradipta Tarafdar, ex-DDG, GSI, Guest Faculty, Calcutta University, Guest Faculty, GSI Training Institute, deliberated on “Copper exploration in India, past and present” in HCL’s technical session in observance of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.
To focus on R&D and innovative ideas, Shri Shukla, CMD HCL said that collaboration of industry & academia is needed specifically in areas like fast-track depth exploration bringing technical advances, mechanization of mines with advancement in communication ventilation etc.
CMD HCL elaborated that challenges are low reserve & resources of Cu ore in nation, non-reporting of new economically viable deposit since discovery of MCP, fast depletion of easy & high-grade ore, lowering of average grade of ore, enhancement of depth of exploration & mining.
In his inaugural address, Shri Arun Kumar Shukla, CMD, HCL, said that it is time to give a relook at our past progresses, recognize our achievements, analyze our failures and plan our future path & activities accordingly to achieve a brighter future.
After rendition of Vande Mataram and lighting of the ceremonial lamp, Shri S Dey, ED, ICC, delivered the welcome address followed by speeches by Shri Ghanshyam Sharma, D(F) and Shri Sanjay Panjiyar, D(OP), HCL.
