Air tankers and helicopters supporting the #FloristonFire have delivered over 474,000 gallons of water and over 88,600 gallons of retardant, logging more than 122 flight hours โ including 13-and-a-half hours of night operations.
Meanwhile, crews are building and strengthening containment lines through rugged terrain, with engines, dozers and hand crews working around the perimeter.

Early this morning, CAL FIRE LNU deployed 9144C, consisting of five Type 3 engines and a Battalion Chief serving as the Strike Team Leader, to Nevada County to assist with the #FloristonFire.
Our crews are on the line today, supporting firefighting operations and working alongside our partners to protect communities and resources.

A few shots from The #FloristonFire near Truckee yesterday afternoon. Cal Fire, USFS , local Fire Agencies are working in steep terrain and challenging conditions. The fire is 600 acres and 5% contained .
WB I-80 remains closed near the Nevada State Line due to the #FloristonFire. Crews are on scene and monitoring the highway.

Floriston Update (Thursday, 8:00 a.m.)
The fire remained within last nightโs perimeter, with dozer line along portions of the south side and hand line around portions of the fire. Two spot fires were identified to the north.
