That's the challenge many practitioners face in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, and it's what brought J-PAL together with IPA, the World Bank, and IRC at #FragilityForum2026. Through hands-on tools and shared discussions, we co-led a session bringing together practitioners working to bridge that gap.

Displaced International (DI) President Ambassador @MAshrafHaidari is attending the World Bank Group’s #FragilityForum2026, a timely gathering focused on the growing risks posed by conflict, climate shocks, economic fragility, weak governance, and strained health systems.
As former and current displaced professionals, we know from lived experience that these challenges do not exist in isolation. In fragile environments, human security, protection, development, and economic opportunity are deeply interconnected. When they fail together, displacement often follows. When they are strengthened together, resilience, stability, and durable solutions become possible.
We commend the @WorldBankGroup for elevating these critical issues. Preventing forced displacement requires addressing root causes through integrated investments in peace, resilience, livelihoods, climate adaptation, and inclusive development.
