@jmhenner @gab_hodge @studies_centre And on the wish list- if there were a cognitive linguistic account of LSF in English, that would be stupendously good! Love the content that exists but would truly appreciate a volume on #FrenchSignLanguage

@KymPMeyer @designsproject No, it uses one-handed fingerspelling. Some of the letters are the same as ASL, but several have different handshapes (F,G,H,K,L,P,Q). The similarities arise because of our common linguistic links to #FrenchSignLanguage. Here’s the ISL alphabet: https://t.co/cPH8aJ3n7I

@IrishDeafSoc Adding to @IrishDeafSoc - there are indeed interesting differences across generations of #ISL users. We’ve had influence on #ISL@from #FrenchSignLanguage & #BritishSignLanguage with gentle traces still evident today. And there’s LOTS we dont yet know...
